it loads the webmail interface but i can't click on anything. that means the links are recognized by the cursor but nothing happens. it says error in page. so no webmail for me anymore. $99 for that? i want my old webmail back!
You can still access the old webmail, look in the help section.
One thing I noticed is it doesn't seem to auto check like gmail?

My guess is that T-Mobile wasn't able to acquire enough 2100 spectrum to go both ways. That's just a guess though, and I don't know why it's not using 1700 in both directions.

If Apple really wants to gain significant market share, it's going to have to advertise to people other than yuppies. I AM a yuppie and Apple's advertising and general attitude are a huge turn off for me.
Working class America is intimidated by snobbery and will always feel more comfortable with down-to-earth, Wal-Marty companies. If Apple wants to gain users, it needs to find an innovative way to advertise to both it's existing yuppie constituency and common consumers. Otherwise they can forget about rising higher than a low double digit percentage.
People who are happy with Wal-Marty companies are going to buy the cheapest thing they can find, so they will go for the $500 laptops and $350 desktops.
Apple is not in the business of massive marketshare, it is in the business of making money. It is doing quite well with its current offerings AND current marketing, so it is unlikely to go downmarket. Consider, 58% of its income and most likely a similar percentage of profits come from Macs, so that's 546x.58 = $317 million. Compare this to Gateway - similar number of PCs sold, but it made a loss of $7 million last quarter.
Increased profits come with increased market, but only up to a point.

OS X and iOS are both going to grow very strong in previewed in depth at WWDC, rollouts later 3rd/4th qtrs. 2011 will indeed see real solidification of each's collaborative strengths.

This is a common refrain from conservatives who will often reference the Laffer Curve and will argue that if only a state lowered its taxes, more money would become available.
The Laffer Curve makes sense. You find a balance and you have taxes that are low enough not to hinder the economy and high enough to fund the government. I really don't understand where this "keep lowering taxes" logic comes from. It certainly has nothing to do with the Laffer Curve.

I am mad at apple, their processors suck right now... not to mention their price. Im not gunna spend 3,000 for a computer that I could get with -yes - a worse os, for 1,000. Macs just arent worth it right now. Until they have something that can compete speed wise, my next comp is a PC.

I was in line for the iPhone 4 last June at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco at 11pm. They kicked everybody out (disbursed the line) at something like 2am that morning. Talk about a disaster! I really hope security and Apple have a better plan arranged this time! I'm thinking I may try to get off work early and get in line at around 1:00pm

With the Xserve getting canned, it's likely that Apple will shift Lion server hard towards SOHO needs and further away from the needs of larger enterprise environments.

I agree, except for one little thing===> HD Content distribution. No real solution for that one yet. You can't very easily d/l a 25GB HD movie. Even compressed, it's a massive freakin' file. I don't think there's a comsumer level internet connection that could support such content offerings.

CR is, IMO, the best starting point to find out if a product is reliable or has a known defect. From there, I expand my research with more detailed reviews.

CR can be useful but certainly shouldn't be the end of your research. my parents and some friends of theirs bought vizio tvs based on CR alone and the tvs have really crappy picture quality. maybe they scored highly in reliability or something...

I like it. There's nothing I hate more than having to go through a web mail system that looks like a web mail system.

He's very into simplicity and minimalism, just look at the way apple products are designed. I think its a conscious choice to wear a simple black turtleneck and jeans, even though he could easily afford any clothes he wanted.

What I mean is that DLNA seems to be always used in the context of "I am here, and my media is over there". For example, I have music or movies stored on a remote server or a NAS, and I want to bring it into the device I'm currently sitting at (a TV, an iPod or iPad, a PS3, another computer).
Whereas AirPlay seems to be the opposite: "My media is here, but I want to play it over there". You use AirPlay to redirect the audio/video output from your iPhone or iPad or computer to a remote A/V device like your stereo receiver or Apple TV.
